We have secured an out of court settlement of £30,000 for injuries sustained by our client who was a pedestrian involved in a road traffic accident.
Our client was crossing the forecourt of a garage when he was hit by a vehicle. The driver had turned into the forecourt without paying proper attention and our client suffered a fractured right tibia as a result of the collision. After a prolonged stay in hospital, our client made a full recovery.
Although primary liability for the accident was admitted, the defendant alleged that our client was partially at fault. The defendant claimed that our client had crossed the forecourt when it was unsafe to do so and the defendant’s vehicle was there to be seen. However, following investigations by the police and sight of CCTV footage, a full admission of liability was received. The defendant was subsequently sent on a driver’s awareness course as an alternative to criminal prosecution.
