Cushing's disease can arise from a tumour secreting the hormone hydrocortisone and can result in weight gain, typically distributed over the face, neck, shoulders and hips with characteristic hair growth and often purple stretch marks over the abdomen.
Blood pressure can increase and associated osteoporosis results in bone softening.
In this case we acted for a child whose paediatrician failed to suspect and to identify or test for Cushing's disease as a result of which our client suffered continuing symptoms and developed depression. We succeeded in settling damages for our client for her significant injuries.
