We provide ongoing advice including successful representation at public inquiries to the UK’s largest privately owned dairy business, which has a turnover of over £250 million. Dairy businesses, in particular, have been ‘squeezed’ by low margins on the sale of milk often resulting in unfounded allegations of maintenance corner cutting in order to save costs. Our client was called to a public inquiry to answer to such allegations.
As a result of skilful representation of our client’s case at public inquiry, we were able to demonstrate that the reasons for maintenance failings were not the result of a failure of our client’s systems. As a result, no regulatory action was taken and only a warning letter was issued. Our client’s application for increased vehicle authorisation and to add additional operating centres, which had triggered the public inquiry, was granted in full.
