We recently obtained compensation for a motorcyclist who suffered a fractured wrist and foot in a road accident.
Our client was riding his motorcycle towards a set of traffic lights that were showing green while a van from the opposite direction was waiting to turn left, across our client’s path. While the lights were still green in our client’s favour, the van turned into his path without warning, causing a collision. Liability was not admitted straightaway since, until the parties were able to analyse the police report, it was essentially one road user’s word against another. Nevertheless, liability was subsequently established 100% in our client’s favour.
The client underwent extensive surgery to both his foot and wrist with physiotherapy required for both injuries. Although still able to cycle, he will never be able to run again.
Damages of £100,000 were recovered.
