Clients appreciate the team’s sensible and pragmatic approach.
While projects are increasingly complex and large in scale, the onus on keeping things simple has never been greater. Our team combines creative thinking with straightforward, commercial advice as we represent clients on a diverse cross-section of projects and infrastructure schemes.
We have experience of acting for all those involved - including the public sector and local authorities, major corporations, registered social landlords, developers, funders, contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers and professional advisers. As a result, we know which issues are important to each party and how to achieve the best results.
We provide a dedicated team to guide clients through each stage of the project, from its inception, through procurement, consultation and negotiation, to financial close and then construction and operation. We are able to advise on how best to structure a deal from tax and value perspectives; what the standard market positions are; what moves can be made away from these positions; and how insurances can be used to offset risk in any given situation.
We can also assist with determining the best way to finance a project and provide support to funders and developers on both funding and security issues.
Recent projects our team has advised on include high profile PPP/PFI and LIFT schemes, and we are fully conversant with the issues surrounding the standard form documentation in each sector.
Helping a housing association client close a series of DBFO projects for the provision of keyworker housing for NHS trusts, including advising on the local impact of the construction of the Crossrail Project.
Applying the knowledge gained from a long association with the scientific and academic sectors to support a research council on the contractual arrangements for the development of one of the largest single scientific facilities in the UK.
Advising a private sector contractor on a PFI waste project for Wiltshire County Council. We assisted on the terms of the design and the contract between the PFI contractor and the subcontractor for the supply and construction of MBT plant infrastructure.
