Clinical Negligence

Latest news & insights:

Serious injury and, in some cases, death can arise out of the negligent treatment of cardiac disease or strokes, including Transient Ischaemic Attacks (TIAs).

Penningtons Manches Cooper has advised in relation to the failure to recognise and treat the signs and symptoms associated with heart attacks (myocardial infarctions or MIs), strokes and TIAs, angina, hypertension and other cardiac diseases.

A patient's symptoms are sometimes dismissed as being benign or minor without proper referral for further investigation or tests, such as by ECG (electrocardiogram). Sometimes the investigations are not properly carried out or test results are not properly interpreted and sometimes injuries can arise during or after cardiac surgery with potentially serious consequences.

We have dealt with a number of cases involving out-of-hours GPs and paramedics who have wrongly diagnosed patients who are in the early stages of a heart attack with indigestion or similar as well as those who are having a TIA or a stroke.

Penningtons Manches Cooper's experienced team can advise in relation to a wide range of claims.
