Members of our corporate team are experienced in all types of private equity and have handled many large, complex transactions for premier mid-market private equity houses.
Transaction work is partner-led, bringing the best specialist lawyers from around the firm to deliver clear, commercial advice to our diverse client base, whether for an institutional house, a debt provider, an investee company or a management team.
We have a particular focus on key industry-specific sectors including technology, life sciences, retail and fashion and real estate and we work closely with our IP/commercial team on investments into IP-rich companies in some of these sectors.
Members of our corporate team also handle all types of venture capital transactions on matters ranging from initial investments and subsequent funding rounds through to exits via trade sales. Our venture capital client base includes founders, investors, venture capital funds and companies seeking funding arrangements.
Advising Cape Verde Capital, the renewable energy investment arm of the Wates Family Enterprise, on its first £1 million investment in Hampshire-based company Segen Limited, an independent operator of clean energy installations across Europe.
Acting for management on the buy-out of Winning Moves International (developer, distributor and seller of games and playing cards, most notably TopTrumps and Waddingtons No.1 and, through licensing arrangements with Hasbro, Monopoly and Rubik’s Cube) from the Kremer family and Hasbro SA with investment from Owlsia.
Advising the majority shareholders on the £18 million management buy-out of Tessella Limited, an international provider of science powered technology and consultancy services head quartered in Oxfordshire. Mobeus Equity Partners supported the buy-out.
