@DivorceLawUK ranked fourth overall, first of family law Twitter accounts and eighth most followed account in the legal sector.
The Penningtons Manches family law team’s Twitter account has been highly ranked in Online Ventures Group’s annual survey of the quality of UK law firms’ Twitter accounts in 2014.
PennManchesFamily @DivorceLawUK is the number one Twitter account for hashtag usage and ‘favourited’ tweets and the second most mentioned in other tweets. Hashtags are a defining feature of Twitter as they help to categorise tweets by keywords or topics. The top ranking for favourites reflects the appreciation of fellow Twitter users of the account’s content.
The family law team’s account is the eighth most-followed account within the legal sector with almost 5,700 followers. It is also the ninth best account by URL usage. A large number of links to other sites indicate that a company actively shares valuable content and is another criterion for Twitter success.
Overall, @DivorceLawUK is ranked fourth out of the 300 UK firms surveyed – behind Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance UK and Inksters Solicitors but above Linklaters, Olswang, Pinsent Masons and over 290 other firms.
James Stewart, Penningtons Manches’ family law partner who established @DivorceLawUK and manages the team that runs the account, said: “We set up the Twitter account just after the joining together of Penningtons and Manches in October 2013 in order to disseminate good news about the department and its tremendous successes - it really does appear to have taken off.
“We tweet about all aspects of family law, both domestic and international, as well as other issues affecting individuals, ranging from access to justice to privacy. The quality of these tweets has greatly influenced the success of @DivorceLawUK.”
