Penningtons Manches partner selected as contributing editor for Butterworth’s Personal Injury Litigation Service

Philippa Luscombe, partner and head of the personal injury team at Penningtons Manches, has been invited to edit a new section on catastrophic injury claims for the latest edition of Butterworth’s Personal Injury Litigation Service.

Produced by Lexis Nexis, the publication is considered as a comprehensive reference guide by personal injury professionals and contains detailed information on a broad range of topics – from medical negligence and industrial accidents to the effect of inflation on claims. Expert commentary is accompanied by case studies, questionnaires, precedents, checklists, drawings and a glossary of medical terms.

In a chapter entitled ‘Evolving techniques of file management’, Philippa outlines how file management has changed to accommodate developments in the personal injury field over the last 15 years. These changes have become even more significant in the last three years.

Her analysis examines the advancements in the management of both lower value personal injury claims, where there have been substantial modifications, as well as higher value and catastrophic claims. Key sections are also devoted to Qualified One Way Costs Shifting, success fees, costs budgets and part 36 offers.
