Penningtons Manches Cooper advises Shore Capital on £7.2 million equity fundraising for Cake Box Holdings plc

The corporate team at Penningtons Manches Cooper has advised Shore Capital as nominated adviser and sole bookrunner to Cake Box Holdings plc, on a £7.2 million fundraising through a placing and retail offer, in order to part finance the acquisition by Cake Box of Ambala Foods Limited, a prestigious Asian sweet manufacturer based in London. 

Cake Box, founded in 2008, is the UK's largest retailer of fresh cream celebration cakes. Over the course of its growth journey it has opened over 200 stores, partnered with Deliveroo, Uber Eats, and Just Eat to facilitate the delivery of their cakes, and listed on the London Stock Exchange. Now seeking further growth, Cake Box has acquired Ambala Foods Limited for an aggregate consideration of £22 million. 

The Penningtons Manches Cooper team was led by London-based corporate partner, Seb Orton, with support from associate, Jenny Wright.
