Profile

Antonio is a senior associate in the Madrid office. His expertise covers a range of commercial agreements, litigation in civil matters, wet and dry shipping cases, insurance law and unfair competition law. With a particular interest in international trade and shipping, he advises clients on contracts and insurance policies. He has wide experience in litigation and arbitration proceedings.

He also has experience of acting on company matters, enforcement of debts and insolvency matters. He has been appointed as bankruptcy administrator by the Mercantile Court of Cadiz, Spain. His key focus is on commercial disputes, often with an international and cross-jurisdictional perspective and he regularly advises British companies and individuals with interests in Spain.

Antonio has lectured at the University of Loyola and ISDE, and the Chambers of Commerce of Campo de Gibraltar and Seville. He studied law at the University Complutense in Madrid and obtained an LLM in maritime law at the University of Southampton.

  • Coordinating a cross-border team of lawyers to deal with a collision case in Fray Bentos, Uruguay.
  • Acting as bankruptcy administrator following an appointment by the Mercantile Court of Cadiz.
  • Heading the litigation in Spain for an international dispute over carriage of goods by sea and coordinating lawyers in foreign jurisdictions.
  • Advising on an unfair competition case involving detention of goods at Spanish customs.
  • Acting on litigation in relation to letters of credit covering the purchase of goods from China.
