Profile

Catherine is a senior associate in the family law team in London and specialises in matrimonial finance, particularly on cases with an international element.

Catherine advises clients on matters including divorce and civil partnership dissolution, the associated financial claims, and private children law matters. She also has experience in financial claims following a foreign divorce, and applications for emergency injunctive relief, including freezing injunctions and non-molestation and occupation orders. While she has extensive experience in both the High Court and regional family courts, she is committed to pursuing alternative dispute resolution where appropriate and possible.

Prior to joining Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2021, Catherine trained and practised at another leading family firm in London. She is a member of Resolution and a published author in the Family Law Journal.

Recent work highlights

  • Representing the applicant wife in financial remedy proceedings involving a pre-marital business which had grown exponentially during the parties' relationship, and a prenuptial agreement which had been revoked.
  • Representing an Omani husband and father with respect to complex financial and children matters in LKH v TQA AL Z (Interim maintenance and costs funding) [2018] EWHC 1214 (Fam).
  • Advising a Finnish wife and mother with respect to Schedule One proceedings brought by her husband in England.
  • Representing a high-profile father following the abduction of his new-born daughter to the United States.
