Claire is a senior associate (FCILEx) in the Guildford private client department. She joined Penningtons Manches Cooper in 1993 and qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2001.
Claire specialises in probate matters, regularly assisting personal representatives in the administration of estates, both where the deceased has left a will and on intestacy, including providing advice on ways to mitigate tax liabilities through post death restructuring of the estate. She also regularly advises clients on a broad range of private client work, in particular the preparation of wills, inheritance tax planning, the registration of enduring power of attorneys, the preparation of lasting powers of attorney, acting as an attorney under a power of attorney, and the creation and administration of trusts.
Claire also advises overseas clients with assets in the UK, including the preparation of wills relating to UK assets and the administration of their UK estates after their death. She is a member of the Law Society’s Private Client Section.
