Profile

Ellen is an associate in the Guildford family team. She acts for clients on a full range of family law issues including children matters, divorce and financial remedies, and domestic abuse.
 
She is a member of Resolution, the leading specialist organisation for family lawyers, and is committed to resolving disputes in a constructive manner.

Ellen spent a year with the family team in Guildford during her training contract at Penningtons Manches Cooper, before qualifying as a solicitor in September 2024. She obtained a first-class degree in history from the University of Bristol, and a distinction in the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the University of Law. Prior to her legal studies, Ellen worked at an international boarding school in Switzerland, before returning to the UK to work with victims of domestic abuse at the National Centre for Domestic Violence.

  • Assisting in a high value financial matter with complex assets including liquid and illiquid private equity funds and investments, and international property.
  • Acting for clients in complex private children matters, including international relocation and allegations of domestic abuse.
  • Assisting in the preparation of a pre-nuptial agreement involving multi-million pound assets and complex trust structures.
