Profile

Jamie is an associate in the Shipping and International Trade team in London. He has experience in both “wet” and “dry” shipping, having worked on cases involving collisions, salvage, fires and groundings, as well as international trade disputes arising out of charterparties and sale contracts.

He is familiar with High Court and London arbitration procedure and has experience of cases involving multi-jurisdictional proceedings. Jamie acts for a broad range of clients including P&I Clubs, shipowners, charterers, cargo interests and banks. 

After studying history and French at the University of Exeter, Jamie completed his GDL at Oxford Brookes University and his Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in London, graduating with a distinction. Jamie qualified as a solicitor in 2018.

Recent work highlights

  • Advising a shipowner in relation to the recycling of a foreign flagged ship that had operated within European Union waters.
  • Advising shipowners in relation to a claim for mis-delivery of cargo.
  • Advising shipowners and insurers after vessel collisions on jurisdiction, general average, liability, limitation and quantum.
  • Acting for shipowners facing claims related to damaged cargo.
