Profile

Lucy is a senior associate in the family team in London. She advises on all aspects of family law and issues arising upon relationship breakdown, including divorce, financial remedies, nuptial agreements, injunctive proceedings, and children matters. She specialises in high-net-worth family matters, which often involve disputes that have complex international, offshore, or financial elements.

Acting for a wide range of clients, Lucy provides thorough, reassuring and proactive advice and guidance. She is a member of Resolution, an organisation of family lawyers committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes. While she has considerable experience of litigation, she is also well versed in achieving results outside of court proceedings which are tailored to the individual’s preferences and goals. She is focused on obtaining the best outcome for her clients but has a highly personable and compassionate approach.

Prior to joining Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2024, Lucy trained and practised at two other leading family law firms in London. She is recognised in The Legal 500 where she has been described as ‘a standout senior associate’, ‘a strategist wise beyond her years’ and ‘always constructive in communications with the other side’.

Recent work highlights

  • Acting for the husband in a case where the separation date was hotly contested as it affected the value of company assets brought into the divorce. A settlement was negotiated which enabled the client to retain their corporate interests free from any claim from their spouse.
  • Representing a UK client who had been the higher earner while also taking on the lion’s share of the homemaker/childcare responsibilities in contested financial remedy proceedings against their spouse based in Scandinavia. The client was able to retain 50% of the assets, including the family home, despite the spouse alleging non-matrimonial assets.
  • Successfully defending the respondent to an application for a non-molestation order and an occupation order, allowing them to remain in their home. All unnecessary restrictions against the client were removed.
