Profile

Charlotte is a senior associate in the contentious private client team.

She has experience of complex trust and probate disputes, both in the English and Jersey courts, with a particular focus on high value and cross-border contentious trust and estate litigation. Charlotte has acted for a variety of clients including private individuals, corporate and individual trustees and executors, protectors, beneficiaries, and charities in a wide range of domestic and international disputes. Her work includes beneficiary disputes, breach of trust claims, administration of estate disputes, and claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.

Prior to joining the firm, Charlotte gained four years of experience as a solicitor at a leading law firm in Jersey. She is a member of the Contentious Trusts Association.

Recent work highlights

  • Advising trustees in the context of divorcing beneficiaries, and obtaining blessings from the court in relation to the trustees’ actions and disclosure of trust documents.
  • Acting for the executors and beneficiaries of a will, defending a claim under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
  • Advising administrators of an English estate where the trustee of an international charitable trust misappropriated trust funds.
  • Advising executors in the context of a will validity dispute.
