Profile

James is a knowledge paralegal in the dispute resolution division and is based in the London office. He provides support and advice in respect of the legal aspects arising in dispute resolution matters and keeps the team up to date by organising training. 

He graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in law with European study, which included a year abroad at the Université d'Aix-Marseille. Prior to joining Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2023, he worked at Lambeth Council as a senior paralegal in the social care and housing law teams. 

James has also worked as a fee earner in a boutique law firm which specialised in assisting the parents of children or young people with a special educational need to navigate the education, health and care (EHC) plan process.

Recent work highlights

  • Assisting with a public inquiry (the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse).
  • Working on an employment law project relating to the Supreme Court’s decision on the miscalculation of holiday pay in Harpur Trust v Brazel.
