Sophie is an associate in the employment team, based in the Reading office. She acts for individuals and corporate clients, advising on a broad range of employment law matters.
Sophie has experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters. She has assisted with employment tribunal claims relating to discrimination, whistleblowing and unfair dismissal. Sophie regularly advises on day-to-day HR matters including company policies and procedures, the conduct of disciplinary hearings, the enforceability of restrictive covenants, and other contractual issues.
She also advises on the drafting and negotiation of employment contracts and settlement agreements, and has assisted a number of clients on their response to data subject access requests. As a member of the firm's North America group, Sophie works closely with US and international companies on employment law and international expansion issues.
After studying law and criminology at the University of Sheffield, Sophie joined the firm as a trainee in 2018 and qualified as a solicitor in 2020. She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association as well as Penningtons Manches Cooper’s LGBTQIA+ committee and socioeconomic group.
