Profile

Laura is an associate in the employment team in Reading. She acts for individuals, corporate clients across a variety of sectors, and staff associations and their members on a broad range of employment law matters. These include contentious and non-contentious issues, such as capability and conduct concerns, redundancy, TUPE, and whistleblowing. She also has experience of bringing and defending employment tribunal litigation, and negotiating settlements.

Her work also includes advising members of the Police Federation on matters that include discrimination, whistleblowing, and breaches of police regulations. Laura is a member of the Employment Law Association, the firm’s motorsport group, and the firm’s gender subcommittee.

Laura qualified in 2019 and joined Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2021 from another top tier, regional firm.

  • Defending a challenging unfair dismissal claim against a FTSE 250 employer.
  • Advising a large hotel chain on the application of furlough and other Government support available during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic.
