Mark Lee, Partner at Penningtons Manches

Profile

Mark heads our travel law team and is listed as a 'leading individual' in travel law by Chambers UK and The Legal 500. He is noted as 'a mover and a shaker' in the market, who is 'particularly adept in high-value serious injury claims and also knowledgeable and approachable'. He is also recognised for being "skilled, pragmatic and absolutely the go-to-guy for travel related accident and catastrophic injury claims".

Mark’s team acts as the panel solicitors for various UK travel insurers and Lloyds syndicates, receiving instructions to act on behalf of policyholders for claims arising from accidents abroad. As a trusted advisor to the travel insurance industry, he also assists with the subrogated recovery of insurer’s outlay and advises on policy wordings and other contentious issues.

As lead partner of the firm’s Insurance and Reinsurance Group, Mark works closely with colleagues in our Paris, Madrid, Piraeus, and Singapore offices on a range of disputes. A fluent Spanish speaker, he has represented Spanish nationals and companies both in Spain and in the UK and is a regular commentator in the travel and legal press. He also delivers in-house legal training to insurers and Lloyds syndicates on travel litigation issues and private international law.
