Profile

Victoria is a senior associate in the employment team in Oxford. She advises on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law. 

With particular expertise in acting for clients in the education, transport, technology and hospitality sectors, Victoria understands the regulatory constraints and reputational concerns which apply to them. She is experienced in defending complex discrimination claims in the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal on behalf of employers and has frequently appeared as an advocate for preliminary matters.

Victoria is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association. She regularly presents at training sessions on a variety of topics including handling workplace investigations, responding to employment tribunal claims and managing bullying and harassment. She joined Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2018.

Recent work highlights

  • Successfully defending a group action involving 20 claims for unfair dismissal in relation to an alleged TUPE transfer which had a potential liability for the employer of over £500,000.
  • Providing day-to-day advisory services on personnel documentation and all employment related issues, including staff disciplinary, grievance and capability matters to one of the UK’s leading independent boarding and day schools.
  • Handling a disability discrimination claim issued in the county court for a leading public transport provider.
  • Providing day-to-day advisory services to a private hospital, including advising on internal workplace investigations and delivering staff training on obligations arising from GDPR.
  • Successfully defending a disability discrimination, harassment and constructive unfair dismissal claim issued by a midwife against an NHS trust and pursued to the Employment Appeal Tribunal.
