Opportunities for Indian businesses to be showcased at ‘London – catalyst for growth’ briefings

Posted: 14/01/2013

Penningtons Solicitors LLP is joining forces with a group of leading City based companies and organisations to highlight London’s potential as an investment destination for Indian businesses.

In partnership with London and Partners, UK Trade and Investment and the City of London together with other enterprises from the capital, the firm is organising a series of workshops entitled ‘London – catalyst for growth’ in New Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai. The events, which take place between 22 and 25 January 2013, will focus on the opportunities for cross border mergers and acquisitions and raising funds in London. They are designed to allow Indian companies to develop a better insight into the business and regulatory aspects of establishing an entity in the UK.

During the presentations panellists will share their collective experiences and thoughts on transactions in the India-UK corridor as well as analyse the different funding avenues available including external commercial borrowings (ECBs) and AIM listings, which have often been a preferred avenue for Indian corporates.

A group of Penningtons lawyers will be travelling to India to participate in the events – head of corporate Simon Bickerdike, commercial and technology partner Joanne Vengadesan, and international corporate finance consultant Teja Picton-Howell.

Commenting on the programme, Simon Bickerdike said: “The workshops will provide focused, practical advice from experienced professionals in the legal, financial and accounting fields. We have received an enthusiastic response from existing clients and contacts and expect the events to generate thought provoking discussions on the most effective way for Indian businesses to establish a strong foothold in the UK.”
